Biography
Louisa began studying the piano at the age of 3 and attended Trinity College of Music (TCM) junior department for 7 years before embarking upon a degree course at TCM. She studied for 4 years under Roger Green and graduated in 2000. Since leaving college, Louisa has embarked on a successful career as a freelance accompanist, repetiteur and Musical Director.
Louisa specialises in working with singers, most recent positions are repetiteur for the University of Greenwich, conducted by Nicholas Jenkins; Voices in Partnership and the Cavendish Singers (choirs run by the John Lewis PLC and conducted Manvinder Rattan); London Voices, conducted by Terry Edwards and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. She has performed in many of the country's leading concert venues, including the Royal Albert Hall, Barbican, Purcell Room, and even Wembley!
Since 2000, Louisa has been a regular tutor on the Workers' Music Association Summer School, initially as an accompanist, now also as a vocal coach, Ceilidh band tutor and conductor of the Summer School Chorus.
Musical theatre credits include Musical Director of Hot Flush! (tour) and Peter Pan (Camberley 2006). Keyboards on, Cabaret (Lyric), The Producers (tour) amoungst others and Supervisor for Qudos during the 2007-8 Panto season. She is currently playing the Accordion/Keyboard chair on the UK tour of Evita (Bill Kenwright). Other freelance engagements include coaching for Berkshire Youth Music Trust, audition and workshop accompanying for Mountview Theatre Academy and the Italia Conti Academy and coaching for the BBC's Children in Need. Louisa has also been a guest Musical Director on Holland America and Cunard cruiselines.
Louisa enjoys regular work as a folk musician with the acclaimed violin and piano duo 'Aidan and Louisa' with Aidan Broadbridge of the Assembly Players. She also plays Accordion and calls with other folk ensembles.
Louisa is also a trained soprano singer and works as a chorister at the famous Butterfield church, All Saints, Margaret St, in central London. With this group, Louisa has performed on CDs and on BBC Radio 3's live evensong.
